Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the data, including the values for 2015 and 2016 and the percentage changes. However, the reporting is inconsistent and contains factual inaccuracies. For instance, you state that textiles accounted for 25% in 2015, but the chart shows 25 billion. Additionally, you mention a 5.18% drop for gems and jewellery, which is correct, but your description of the other categories is somewhat muddled. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between currency values (billions) and percentages, and double-check your data extraction to ensure accuracy when reporting figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Overall' to link ideas. However, the flow is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the categories and the figures is not always smooth. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations. For example, 'billions of money spent in exports of vary groups' is unnatural; 'various categories' would be better. You also use 'respectively' incorrectly throughout the text, as it is used to link two sets of data, not to end a sentence describing a single figure. Spelling errors like 'categery', 'droped', and 'respectevly' also detract from the overall quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'Petroleum products and agriculture products were got tiny growth', which is grammatically incorrect. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex structures. Pay close attention to verb forms and ensure that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
