Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all categories provided in the data, but the approach is overly mechanical and repetitive. Each paragraph follows an identical structure, which prevents a meaningful synthesis of the data. While the main features are identified, the response lacks a clear overview that highlights significant trends or contrasts beyond a simple summary sentence at the end. The task requires selecting and reporting main features, but the current approach reads like a list of individual data points rather than an analytical report. To improve, you should group related categories together and focus on comparing the magnitude of changes rather than describing each one in isolation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay uses a very rigid, repetitive structure ('First of all', 'Secondly', 'Thirdly', 'Fourthly', 'Lastly'). This makes the flow feel mechanical and unnatural. While there is a logical sequence, the reliance on these transition markers is excessive and lacks variety. Paragraphing is present, but the paragraphs are very short and lack internal cohesion. The referencing is clear, but the overall progression is hindered by the repetitive sentence structure. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider range of cohesive devices and vary your sentence transitions to create a more fluid and sophisticated argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but is highly repetitive. Phrases like 'earning through export of' and 'as compared to the data of' are used in almost every sentence, which limits the range of vocabulary. There is little attempt to use more sophisticated or varied terminology to describe trends (e.g., 'surged', 'plummeted', 'fluctuated', 'marginal increase'). While the meaning is always clear, the lack of lexical variety prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on using synonyms and more precise verbs to describe the statistical changes shown in the chart.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response relies almost exclusively on simple sentence structures. There is a lack of complex grammatical structures, such as relative clauses or subordinate clauses, which are necessary for higher band scores. While the grammar is generally accurate and errors do not impede communication, the lack of variety in sentence construction is a significant limitation. Punctuation is generally correct, though there are some spacing issues before commas (e.g., 'Secondly ,we'). To improve, try to combine related ideas into complex sentences using conjunctions or relative pronouns to demonstrate better control over grammatical range.
