Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response successfully covers all parts of the task. You have identified the main features, such as the highest and lowest earners and the notable percentage changes. The data is accurately reported, and you have made relevant comparisons between the categories and the two years. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the trends. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are transcribed with absolute precision, as there were minor discrepancies between the chart data and your text (e.g., the petroleum figure). Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You have used cohesive devices such as 'similarly', 'however', and 'finally' to link ideas. However, the paragraphing and flow could be improved by ensuring that transitions between sentences are smoother. Some sentences feel slightly disjointed, and the use of punctuation is occasionally inconsistent, which affects the overall flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent paragraph structure will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the data, including terms like 'generated', 'revenues', 'decline', and 'percentage growth'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'petrolium', 'billon', 'jewllery', and 'markebly'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to catch these slips and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations or synonyms to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, which would elevate your score significantly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You have attempted a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing capital letters at the start of sentences ('in contrasts', 'in2015'), missing articles, and inconsistent verb tense usage. These errors are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and ensuring that your punctuation is accurate. Increasing the number of error-free sentences will be key to moving into the higher band range.
