Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided data. However, it fails to clearly identify the main features or trends. The overview is confusing and lacks clarity, failing to provide a coherent summary of the data. Furthermore, the description of the data is fragmented and inaccurate in places (e.g., stating there is 'no difference' for agricultural products when the table shows a percentage change). The response lacks a clear structure for reporting data, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between 2015 and 2016. To improve, focus on identifying the highest and lowest values and clear, distinct trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks logical organization. The introduction is poorly phrased, and the overview is disjointed, making it hard to identify the main points. Paragraphing is not used effectively to separate the introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'on the other hand' and 'as compare'. The progression of ideas is not clear, and the lack of proper sentence structure hinders the flow of the information. Using clearer transition words and organizing the data into logical categories would significantly improve the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which impacts the clarity of the report. Phrases like 'evaluate of one country send overseas' and 'gems and adornments' (instead of gems and jewellery) indicate a lack of precision. There is significant repetition of basic words like 'rate', 'percentage', and 'difference'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'experienced a growth of', or 'witnessed a decline'. Expanding your range of vocabulary to include more academic collocations is essential.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The table illustrate', 'they is a minor difference'), incorrect word order, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple and often incomplete or run-on. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors in basic grammar (such as 'both a same') are persistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using correct punctuation. Practicing the use of complex sentences will also help in demonstrating a wider grammatical range.
