Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task but contains significant inaccuracies regarding the data. You have misidentified the years as 2025 and 2026, which is a major error in data interpretation. While you have selected some main features, the reporting is inconsistent and lacks a clear overview. The summary of trends is somewhat mechanical, and the failure to accurately represent the provided data (e.g., stating petroleum products remained common with a 3% difference when the chart shows a 3% change) hinders the clarity of the report. To improve, ensure you carefully transcribe the years provided in the prompt and focus on identifying the most significant trends rather than listing every figure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks logical paragraphing, as it is presented as a single block of text with minimal structure. While there is an attempt to sequence information by category, the transition between sentences is often abrupt or repetitive, using phrases like 'and the other category is' or 'another is'. Cohesive devices are limited and sometimes misused, which makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, you should use clear paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, overview, and body paragraphs, and employ a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic verbs like 'goes to', 'raise', and 'stuck at'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'crucial percentage' and 'remained common', which do not accurately convey the intended meaning in an academic context. The use of 'etc' is inappropriate for formal writing. To improve, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'experienced a marginal increase', or 'remained stable', and avoid informal abbreviations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'two of five categories grows'), incorrect tense usage, and inconsistent punctuation, such as the random use of capitalization in 'PERCENT ANd DIN'. Sentence structures are largely simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors in syntax. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent verb tenses throughout the report, and proofreading for mechanical errors like capitalization and missing articles.
