Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of the chart and table. You have successfully selected key data points, such as the highest and lowest export categories, and made relevant comparisons between 2015 and 2016. However, the overview is slightly underdeveloped; while you mention the highest and lowest categories, you could improve by explicitly noting the general trend of growth across most categories. Additionally, some data points are slightly inaccurate, such as stating petroleum was the highest in 2015 without clearly contrasting it with the 2016 figures provided in the table. Overall, the response provides a clear summary of the information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'To begin with', and 'Moreover' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing, such as 'it it evident' and 'stood with around'. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the bar chart data and the table data could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different categories, which helps the reader follow the comparison of the data sets effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'exportation', 'significantly', and 'moderate value'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'how many percentage change' (should be 'the percentage change') and 'stood with around' (should be 'stood at around'). You also repeat the word 'exportation' frequently, which limits the sophistication of your writing. To reach a higher band, try to vary your vocabulary by using synonyms like 'revenue', 'figures', or 'earnings' to describe the export values.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally affect clarity. For example, 'The table present information' should be 'The table presents', and 'petroleum products considered with the highest numbers' is grammatically awkward. There are also issues with preposition usage, such as 'decreased with very small amount' instead of 'decreased by a small amount'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the data, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct prepositional phrases will improve your accuracy.
