Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the bar chart and the table. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the dominance of petroleum products and the decline in gems and jewelry. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical. For instance, the statement 'for petroleum and engineered goods figure is same approx. 62billion dollars' is inaccurate based on the provided data, and the description of the percentage changes could be more integrated with the actual values. To improve, ensure that your comparisons are precise and that you highlight the most significant trends rather than listing data points for every category.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'In contrast' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices feels a bit repetitive or mechanical. For example, the transition between the bar chart description and the table data could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrates', 'categories', and 'declined'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'earning done by a country', 'highest sells were done', and 'little more decreased'. These errors occasionally make the text sound unnatural. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. For example, instead of 'sells', use 'export revenue' or 'earnings'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('in year 2015'), prepositions, and verb forms ('increased in 0.18%'). Some sentences are also missing necessary subjects or verbs, such as 'same found in agriculture'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
