Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the overall growth trend and the exception of gems and jewellery. You also correctly highlighted the textile industry's performance. However, the response lacks precision in reporting the data. For instance, you state petroleum earned 'around 60 billion dollars', but the chart shows it was approximately 60 billion in 2015 and increased by 3% in 2016. Furthermore, you describe the textile and agricultural sectors as being 'around 30 billion dollars', which is a significant misreading of the chart, as these figures are clearly lower. To improve, ensure that data points are extracted and reported with greater accuracy to support your comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is logically organized with an introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall' and 'In all the categories', to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by repetitive sentence structures and some mechanical transitions. For example, starting multiple sentences with 'In all the categories' makes the writing feel somewhat formulaic. To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas between sentences is smoother and less reliant on repetitive phrasing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'revenue', 'proportion', and 'experienced a dip'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'highest growth' (which is acceptable, but 'most significant growth' would be more precise) and 'revenue making category'. Additionally, there are minor errors in pluralization, such as 'gems and jewelleries' (jewellery is an uncountable noun). To improve, focus on using more precise terminology and ensuring correct usage of uncountable nouns to enhance the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'textile industry stand out', 'Petroleum category have earned') and article usage (e.g., 'in range of 60 billion'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they indicate a lack of control over complex structures. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to proofread your work to catch these minor but frequent slips.
