Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task, including the chart and the table. You have successfully identified the main features and provided relevant comparisons, such as noting the significant growth in textiles versus the decline in gems and jewellery. However, the overview is slightly weak; while it mentions the greatest changes, it could be more analytical by grouping the categories more effectively. The data is accurately reported, and the comparison between 2015 and 2016 is clear throughout the report. To reach a higher band, ensure the overview highlights the most significant trends more distinctly rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Alongside', and 'Unlike' to connect ideas effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different categories. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. For instance, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Overall, the information is presented in a coherent manner that is easy to follow, and referencing is consistent throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, using terms like 'export earning', 'value of export', and 'maintained'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'maintained their change in values' (which is slightly confusing) and 'value rate of export'. While you use some specific terminology related to the task, the range is somewhat limited and lacks the more sophisticated collocations that would elevate the response to a higher band. Spelling is generally accurate, and the vocabulary used is appropriate for the context of an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'There is reduced in value' (should be 'There is a reduction in the value') and 'maintained it export' (should be 'maintained its exports'). Additionally, there are minor issues with pluralization, such as 'in each categories'. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear, and the mistakes do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions to ensure more error-free sentences.
