The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
This image illustrates the remarkable change in the export's mass of various categories of the different products in form of earnings, in billion dollars, during the year, 2015 as compared to the year, 2016. All the products mentioned in this diagram got positive change in the exports value except the gems and jewellery as its export declined by 5.18% in the following year. Remarkable hikes in exports of the textiles and engineered goods has been observed which is 15.24% and 8.5% respectively, as compared to that of petroleum products, which is 3% more than the previous year. The agriculture products did not get importance as its exports value increased by not more than 0.81%. The highest degree of growth in terms of earnings is again gained by the petroleum products this year, among all other mentioned products in this diagram. The germs and jewellery lost its value in the year, 2016 in terms of exports.
