Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the highest earners and the sector that experienced a decline. You have also incorporated both the bar chart and the table data effectively. However, the response could be improved by providing a more comprehensive overview. While you mention the highest and lowest earners, you could have highlighted the contrast between the growth in most sectors versus the decline in the gems and jewellery sector more explicitly in the overview. Additionally, ensure that all figures are accurately transcribed; for instance, checking the specific values for all categories would strengthen the report. Overall, you have covered the requirements well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on specific data points. The progression of ideas is generally clear. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive, such as the repeated use of 'However' at the start of sentences. Some transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. For example, the connection between the general overview and the specific details could be more tightly linked. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the data, including terms like 'export earning', 'fluctuation', and 'demonstrated decline'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'Agricultural products was held with the slightest fluctuation', which sounds unnatural. Additionally, there are a few spelling or grammatical slips regarding word forms, such as 'comparision' instead of 'comparison'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends and changes, and ensure that your word choices are consistently accurate and appropriate for a formal report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'Petroleum accounts the highest export earning' is missing a preposition, and 'While table gives comparision' is missing an article. There are also issues with punctuation and sentence fragments. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring complete sentence structures will help improve your accuracy.
