Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the data, such as the values for petroleum and engineered products. However, the report lacks a clear overview or summary of the trends, which is a requirement for Task 1. The information is presented as a list of individual data points rather than a cohesive summary. While the key figures are mentioned, the comparison between categories is weak, and the analysis is limited to simple descriptions of the numbers provided in the chart. To improve, you should group the data logically and provide a clear, concise overview of the main trends at the beginning of the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks effective paragraphing, as it is written as a single block of text with repetitive sentence structures. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and mechanical, with the phrase 'the another product is' used repeatedly to introduce new points. This creates a monotonous flow and makes the text feel like a list rather than a structured report. There is no clear logical progression between the sentences. To improve, you should use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' 'Meanwhile') and organize your response into distinct paragraphs for the introduction, overview, and body details.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use the same phrases, such as 'the product value is' and 'comes to its peak value'. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as '61 billions dollar' (should be '61 billion dollars') and 'the significant value is increase' (should be 'the value increased'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate a higher level of proficiency. To improve, try to use more varied verbs to describe trends, such as 'rose,' 'declined,' 'fluctuated,' or 'remained stable,' and ensure you use correct pluralization for currency and units.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the petroleum products is'), incorrect tense usage (e.g., 'its value decrease' instead of 'decreased'), and missing articles. The sentence structures are very simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and using appropriate verb tenses when describing past data.
