Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by reporting on both the bar chart and the table. However, the overview is weak; it merely lists the categories rather than highlighting the main trends or significant differences. The data reporting is largely accurate, but the description of the percentage changes is somewhat disjointed. To improve, you should focus on synthesizing the information—for example, noting that while most categories saw growth, gems and jewellery experienced a decline. The report lacks a clear, analytical summary of the most significant features, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and awkward transitions. Phrases like 'Initially', 'Secondly', and 'Atlast' are used mechanically rather than to build a sophisticated argument. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between the bar chart data and the table data is abrupt. While the reader can follow the information, the lack of varied cohesive devices and the somewhat disjointed structure make the text feel like a list of facts rather than a cohesive report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic verbs like 'is' and 'increase' or 'decrease'. There are also several spelling errors ('contry', 'Tenble', 'proed', 'val values') and word choice issues, such as 'huge increase to 15-24%'. To achieve a higher score, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a marginal decline'. The current vocabulary is just sufficient to convey the basic meaning but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include missing articles ('in one contry'), incorrect verb forms ('are increase', 'are also increases'), and punctuation errors. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verb tenses remain consistent when describing data from the past.
