Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, including the overall trends and specific percentage changes. However, the overview is somewhat repetitive and lacks a clear, concise summary of the most significant trends. While the key categories are mentioned, the analysis is slightly mechanical, focusing on listing figures rather than synthesizing the information effectively. The inclusion of specific data points is accurate, but the overall development of the response could be improved by grouping the categories more logically to highlight the contrast between the growth in textiles and the decline in gems and jewellery.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'In is also evident slighthly decresed' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. The transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is abrupt. While there is a logical progression from general trends to specific details, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the writing feel disjointed at times. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition signals would significantly enhance the coherence of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but contains several spelling errors, such as 'climed' for 'climbed' and 'incresed' for 'increased'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on repetitive structures to describe changes. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'a jumped of nearby' instead of 'a jump of nearly'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequent spelling and collocation errors prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Using a more varied range of verbs and nouns to describe trends would improve the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('is incresed' instead of 'increased'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('The export percentange of petroleum products is incresed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters after a period. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive and active voice in reporting data.
