IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar chart depicts the value of different kind of products which were exported by a nation while the table illustrates the percentage change in values in 2016 in comparison of 2015.
Overall, both the given illustrations show the value of most of the products was increased in the later year as compared to the former year.
In 2015, petroleum export earnings were $60 billions; however, the ratio increased by 3% in the next year, and it remained the most popular exported product. Engineered products' value was about $55 billion that crossed $60 billion in an year; therefore, they took the similar position as petroleum.
The number of gems and jewellery was dropped in contrast of previous year. A short rise was noticed in agricultural products' exportation that was only .81% whereas a big difference was observed in textiles' export percentage which was only 15% in 2015, and became two fold in the very next year.
