Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response effectively covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of both the chart and the table. You successfully identified the key trends, such as the overall growth in export values and the specific performance of the textile and gems sectors. The inclusion of data points to support your observations is accurate and relevant. To reach a higher band, ensure that your overview is more integrated; rather than stating that 'one category' decreased, explicitly name the category in the summary to provide a more comprehensive snapshot of the data from the outset.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'whereas,' 'moreover,' and 'lastly' to link ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or incorrectly punctuated, such as the fragment 'Moreover. the percentage change...' which disrupts the flow. Additionally, the referencing could be smoother; for instance, the transition between discussing the chart and the table is functional but could be more sophisticated to better integrate the two data sources into a single cohesive narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuation,' 'domains,' and 'financial year' appropriately. There are some minor inaccuracies in collocation and word choice, such as 'most growing sector' (should be 'fastest-growing') and 'in negative trend' (should be 'on a downward trend'). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Incorporating more precise academic collocations would enhance the professional tone of your report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the value of exports have decreased' should be 'has decreased') and punctuation errors, specifically the period used instead of a comma after 'Moreover.' Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout. To improve, focus on proofreading for subject-verb consistency and ensuring that complex sentences are punctuated correctly to maintain grammatical control.
