Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of both the chart and the table. You successfully identified the highest earners and the trends in percentage change. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting; for instance, you stated that agricultural products dropped to 0.18%, whereas the table indicates a positive growth of 0.18%. Additionally, the overview is slightly incomplete as it fails to mention the overall trend of the categories. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are transcribed accurately and that the overview highlights the most significant trends rather than just listing categories.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Regarding', 'Turning to', and 'In addition' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For example, the sentence 'whereas gems and jewellery showed a in 2016' is incomplete, which disrupts the logical progression. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that every sentence is complete will help create a more seamless and professional flow throughout the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'export earnings', 'accounted for', and 'significant rise'. However, there are several spelling errors ('Meeanwhile', 'enginering', 'sttod', 'billlions') and word-choice issues, such as 'experienced a declinedin' and 'accounted for the higher rise'. These errors are noticeable but do not fully impede communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and using more precise collocations to describe data trends, such as 'experienced a decline' instead of 'experienced a declinedin'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and word forms, such as 'textile experienced a significant rise' (should be 'textiles') and 'gems and jewellery experienced a declinedin'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with spacing and missing words that affect the overall accuracy. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex structures are formed without errors that distract the reader.
