Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the task by reporting the percentage changes provided in the table. However, it fails to incorporate the data from the bar graph regarding the actual export values. By ignoring the primary data source (the bar graph) and focusing only on the percentage changes, the response is incomplete. Furthermore, the inclusion of personal opinion in the final sentence ('Since the need of textiles has increased nowadays because people wants to be in trend') is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report, which requires objective data analysis rather than speculation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organised into three short paragraphs, which is a logical structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, 'Inadition to it' is a misspelling and 'In the end' is not an appropriate transition for a summary report. The progression of ideas is somewhat repetitive, as each sentence follows the same rigid structure of stating the category and then the percentage change, which limits the flow of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. The student relies heavily on the phrase 'is increase by' or 'is raised by' for every category. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'dicuss', 'campred', 'Inadition', and 'becuase'. The word choice is basic and lacks the precision required for describing statistical data. To improve, the student should use a wider variety of verbs and nouns related to trends and data, such as 'fluctuated', 'experienced a growth of', or 'declined'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with verb tense and subject-verb agreement, such as 'is increase by' instead of 'increased by' and 'people wants' instead of 'people want'. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas. These persistent errors indicate a lack of control over basic grammatical structures.
