Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers all categories mentioned in the prompt and provides a summary of the main features. However, the interpretation of the data is significantly flawed. For instance, you state that gems and jewellery 'reach at its peak' while simultaneously noting a decrease of 5.18%, which is contradictory. Furthermore, the description of the data is often inaccurate; you mention petroleum products increased by 3%, but the table shows a decrease of 3%. The reporting of figures is inconsistent, and the analysis lacks the precision required for a higher band. To improve, ensure that the data you extract from the visual aids is accurately transcribed and that your summary reflects the actual trends shown in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into an introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph, which provides a basic structure. Cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In addition', and 'Conversely' are used to link ideas, though some transitions feel mechanical. The progression of ideas is somewhat logical, but the internal coherence within the final paragraph is weakened by the inaccurate data reporting, which makes the comparison difficult to follow. Paragraphing is present, but the body paragraph is quite dense and could be split to better separate the different categories of exports for improved readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and spelling errors. For example, 'massive projections' is used incorrectly to describe export values, and 'jems' is misspelled. Phrases like 'reach at its peak' are non-standard. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'export earning' and 'percentage change', the lack of precision in how these terms are applied limits the score. Focusing on collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms will help elevate your lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'increased upto .018%'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'gems and jewellery also reach'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'by decreasing its 5.18%'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the misuse of 'adn' and inconsistent capitalisation detract from the overall quality. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors in tense and article usage.
