Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the data, including the values for 2015 and 2016 and the percentage changes. However, the overview is weak; it lacks a clear summary of the overall trends. The description of the data is somewhat repetitive, and the analysis of the 'highest difference' is slightly confusing as it conflates absolute value with percentage growth. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between the total export values and the percentage changes in your overview. While all categories are mentioned, the report would benefit from a more structured approach to comparing the categories rather than listing them individually.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For example, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. There is a lack of varied linking words to connect ideas within sentences, leading to a somewhat choppy flow. Referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression between the categories could be smoother. Improving the use of transition signals such as 'in contrast,' 'furthermore,' or 'consequently' would help to better connect the data points and improve the overall flow of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'earning' and 'products.' Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'makes a massive growth' or 'jewelleries items.' While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little attempt to use more sophisticated or academic collocations. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'experienced a significant increase,' 'witnessed a decline,' or 'remained relatively stable.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'The country have high earning' (subject-verb agreement), 'compare tively' (spelling/word formation), and 'Textiles makes a massive growth' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are issues with articles and pluralization, such as 'in jewelleries items.' While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
