Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided a clear overview. You included data from both the chart and the table, which is essential for a high score. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting. For example, you state that Agricultural products remained 'almost same' in the overview, but then contradict this by mentioning a rise to 32 billion dollars in the body. Additionally, your description of the data for Engineered goods is slightly confusing, as you state it increased 'around 63 billion dollars from 57 billion', which is mathematically unclear. To improve, ensure your data points are precise and that your summary accurately reflects the specific figures provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In contrast', and 'When it comes to', which help the flow of information. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing and some mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition between the bar chart data and the table data is a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your paragraphing serves to group related information more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'annual revenue', 'remained constant', and 'grew significantly'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'remained almost same in both annual year' and 'which is highest among all the exports'. These do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'marginal increase', and pay closer attention to prepositional usage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'Petroleum products was exported' (subject-verb agreement), 'the table give the information' (subject-verb agreement), and 'Agricultural products rise slightly' (tense inconsistency). While these errors are frequent, they rarely cause confusion for the reader. To achieve a higher band, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage, particularly when describing past data. Proofreading for these specific types of errors will help improve your accuracy significantly.
