Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features and making relevant comparisons. You successfully highlighted the highest and lowest earners and noted the general trend of growth across most sectors. However, the analysis could be more precise; for example, when mentioning the 3% increase for petroleum, you could have explicitly linked the 2015 and 2016 figures to show how the percentage change was derived. The overview is clear, but ensure that all data points are accurately represented to fully satisfy the requirements for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'In addition' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by slightly awkward phrasing, such as 'While, just 26 billions $ at 2015.' The use of referencing could be improved to avoid repetitive sentence structures. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the overview from the detailed data analysis, which helps the reader follow the progression of information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'export earnings,' 'sector,' and 'decreased trend.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'grewed trend' (which is grammatically incorrect) and 'values down.' To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, but it lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'table shows the changed percentage' (should be 'percentage change'), 'grewed trend' (should be 'growing trend'), and 'earns from that sector' (should be 'was earned'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and preposition placement, such as 'at 2016' instead of 'in 2016.' While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score to a 6.0.
