Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying main features and comparing data between 2015 and 2016. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical, focusing on listing figures rather than synthesizing trends. For example, the report lists individual percentages for each category without grouping them effectively to highlight the most significant changes. While the overview is present, it could be more analytical by grouping categories that showed growth versus those that declined. The inclusion of specific data points is accurate, but the interpretation of the 'percentage change' column is slightly confused in the text, as the student sometimes conflates the raw percentage share with the percentage change value.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear overall progression from the overview to the specific details. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moving further', and 'Moreover' are used to link ideas, although some of these transitions feel slightly formulaic. The referencing is generally clear, and the information is presented in a way that is easy to follow. However, the paragraphing could be improved by grouping the categories more logically (e.g., those that increased vs. those that decreased) rather than just listing them one by one, which would enhance the flow of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with terms like 'proportion', 'increment', and 'contributed' used correctly. However, there is a lack of variety, and some phrasing is repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'reached to' and 'percentage of'. There are also minor errors in collocation, such as 'export earning' (should be 'export earnings') and 'figure of agricultural products sold by nation'. To reach a higher band, the student should aim to use more precise synonyms and avoid repeating the same sentence structures when describing numerical changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'reached to' (should be 'reached'), 'period of the time' (unnecessary article), and 'which show a slight increment' (should be 'showed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. Despite these errors, the grammar does not impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, as well as refining the use of prepositions in numerical descriptions.
