Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all requirements of the task by identifying the main features and making relevant comparisons. You have successfully highlighted the growth in most sectors and the decline in gems and jewellery. However, the overview is slightly inaccurate; you state that trade increased in all sectors except gems and jewellery, but the data shows that engineered goods also experienced a significant change. Furthermore, the reporting of figures is occasionally confusing, such as the mention of '5.18%' which does not appear in the source data. To improve, ensure that your overview captures the most significant trends accurately and that all data points are transcribed precisely from the provided chart and table.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'On other hand', and 'meanwhile' to link ideas. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Following by this' and 'in next year'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the final paragraph where the connection between the percentage changes and the specific categories could be smoother. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing appear more natural and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contributed', 'steadily', and 'magnificent growth'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'distinguish with' is incorrect in this context; 'compared with' would be more appropriate. You also use 'earnings' repeatedly, which limits your lexical variety. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise synonyms for 'increase' or 'decrease' and ensure that your collocations are natural. Phrases like 'trade of manufactured goods' could be refined to 'manufactured goods exports' for better academic tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'the highest earnings was' (subject-verb agreement), 'in next year' (missing article), and '3% growth in it was been in' (awkward passive construction). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they indicate a lack of control over more complex structures. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions to improve your accuracy. Proofreading for these common slips will help you achieve a higher score.
