Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have identified some main features, such as the highest and lowest export categories, the analysis is incomplete. You have not fully integrated the percentage change data provided in the table, which was a key part of the instructions. Furthermore, the description of the data is somewhat mechanical and lacks the depth required to fully address the task. To improve, ensure you cover all parts of the prompt, provide a more comprehensive overview, and include sufficient detail to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is hindered by the lack of sufficient content and some awkward transitions. For example, 'Moving toward remaing details' is a somewhat unnatural way to introduce a new paragraph. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally repetitive. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus that contributes to the overall summary.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and sometimes inaccurate. For instance, you used 'leasted' instead of 'lowest' and 'demandable' instead of 'in-demand'. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'ratio' when referring to export values. The range of vocabulary is limited, which prevents a more precise description of the trends. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a marginal increase', and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('In the 2015'), verb tense consistency ('it was decreased'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple, and there is a lack of complex structures. For example, 'The data is repersented in numbers' is a basic sentence that could be more sophisticated. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles, while gradually introducing more complex sentence forms.
