Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, such as the highest and lowest export categories and the general trends. However, the response lacks precision in reporting the data. For instance, you mention 'around $60 billions' and 'approximately 3%', but the calculations and figures are sometimes inconsistent or imprecise. To reach a higher band, ensure that the data points selected are accurate and clearly linked to the provided table and chart. While you have covered the requirements, the analysis of the percentage changes could be more clearly integrated with the absolute values to provide a more cohesive summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. Phrases like 'In addition' and 'Along with' are used, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. There are also some issues with punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and periods, which affects the overall readability. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent paragraph structure would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, using terms like 'export earning', 'proportion', and 'categories'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'the most export earning' instead of 'the highest export earnings' and 'throught the year' (spelling). Additionally, the phrasing 'it drop proportion' is imprecise. To improve, focus on using more accurate collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary is used in the correct grammatical context to describe statistical data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, such as 'The given chart demonstrate' (should be 'demonstrates') and 'petroleum products was' (should be 'were'). There are also errors in tense usage and punctuation, particularly with comma placement and spacing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for punctuation errors will significantly improve your accuracy.
