Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the data, including both the bar chart and the table. However, there are significant inaccuracies in the interpretation of the data. For instance, you state that the 'highest export' was Petroleum products, whereas the chart shows Engineered goods as the highest value. Additionally, the statement regarding the 'least change' being Petroleum products is contradicted by the table, which shows Agricultural products at 0.81%. The summary of the data is somewhat confused, and the comparison between the two charts lacks precision. To improve, ensure that you carefully cross-reference the labels and figures before writing to avoid factual errors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'While', 'Overall', 'Moving further into details', and 'On the other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by the factual inaccuracies mentioned in the task achievement section. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the transition between the description of the bar chart and the table could be smoother to create a more integrated analysis of the data provided.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing for the description of trends and figures. You use terms like 'illustrates', 'depicts', 'percentage difference', and 'overseas trade' correctly. However, there are some awkward phrasings, such as 'price of exports' (the chart shows value, not price) and 'engineered goods was transported abroad'. There are also minor errors in word choice and collocation. To reach a higher band, try to use more precise terminology related to data reporting, such as 'export value', 'fluctuation', or 'marginal increase'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'the highest export... was of Petroleum products' (missing noun/subject), 'in 201 and 2016' (typo), and 'the engineered goods was transported' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma usage and spacing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for typos would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
