Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of both the bar chart and the table. You successfully identified the highest and lowest categories and noted the percentage changes. However, the analysis could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the two data sets. For instance, you mention the percentage increase for textiles but do not explicitly link this to the corresponding change in the bar chart values. Additionally, some data points, such as the '60 millions' figure, lack precision regarding the unit (e.g., USD or millions of dollars). Overall, the response provides a clear overview and highlights key trends effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Turning to the table', and 'meanwhile' to transition between ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing. For example, the phrase 'in both years' at the end of the third paragraph is awkwardly placed. Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words would enhance the overall cohesion of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contributed majorly', 'considerable increase', and 'increment'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'recorded highest figure, of 60 millions' is slightly unnatural; 'recorded the highest figure of 60 million' would be more precise. Additionally, 'Textiles expressed lowest numbers' is not the most appropriate verb choice for data reporting. Expanding your repertoire of reporting verbs and ensuring correct article usage would help elevate your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the bar chart', 'the agriculture sector') and punctuation. For instance, the sentence 'Over the period of from 2015 to 2016, while, the table provides...' contains unnecessary punctuation and a redundant preposition. There are also minor errors in subject-verb agreement and pluralization, such as 'Petroleum goods stood at 3%'. Focusing on proofreading for these small errors and ensuring consistent use of articles will improve your accuracy.
