Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the task requirements by summarizing the main features of the provided data. However, the inclusion of external knowledge—specifically the explanation regarding why gems and jewelry are in decline due to mining difficulties—is inappropriate for an IELTS Academic Task 1. This task requires an objective report based solely on the provided data. While you identified key trends and made comparisons, the analysis is slightly hampered by this irrelevant commentary. To improve, focus strictly on the data presented in the chart and table without speculating on the underlying causes of the trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear overall progression. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Secondly', and 'Lastly' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and the inclusion of irrelevant information. The transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is acceptable, but the internal structure of the second paragraph could be improved by grouping the data more effectively rather than listing each category in a somewhat mechanical fashion. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus to enhance the overall readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'skyrocketed', 'exponentially', and 'downward trend'. However, there are several spelling errors ('minimilistic', 'comapred', 'insudtry', 'relut', 'decresed') and some awkward word choices, such as 'increases in the trend' and 'generation of wealth'. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they do limit the score. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and using more precise collocations, such as 'experienced a marginal increase' instead of 'showed minimilistic upward trend'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'one of the product shows' (subject-verb agreement), 'as year progressed' (missing article), and 'as 2016 past' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that verb tenses are used consistently when describing past data.
