Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the task by summarizing the main features of the chart and table. However, the data interpretation is inconsistent. For instance, you mention that petroleum products increased by 2% in the text, but the table shows a 3% change. Furthermore, the description of the data is sometimes confusing, such as when you state that the export price of agricultural products was the same in 2015 and 2016, yet the table indicates a 0.81% change. To improve, ensure that the figures cited accurately reflect the provided data and that you clearly distinguish between the bar chart values and the percentage change table.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical flow is hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'Moreover', the connections between sentences are often mechanical or unclear. The referencing is sometimes confusing, such as using 'the formal value' and 'the latteral value', which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each sentence builds logically on the previous one will help improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'show', 'change', and 'value'. There are also issues with word choice and spelling, such as 'bargraph', 'earings', 'diffrence', and 'latteral'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'export petroleum things' instead of 'petroleum product exports'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'experienced a growth of', and 'accounted for'. Focusing on accurate spelling and more precise terminology will significantly enhance your lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., '61 billions dollars earn'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of articles and pluralization. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for achieving a higher band score.
