IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The bar chart illustrates the export earning of one country in Petroleum products, Engineered goods, Gems, Agricultural items and Texile between 2015 and 2016. Although, table demonstrates the percentage change in each category of exoprts.
Overall, the Textile industry gain 15.24% exports compare to the last year and textile industry earning more than other categories. Engineering goods have the second biggest earning percentage around 8.5%. But jewellery products saw a declined in the earning in 2016.
In 2015, petroleum earning were above 60 billion, a steady increased in fuel products in 2016 approximately 62 billion and increased by 3% anually. In contrast, if we see the engineering goods earning are under 60 billion dollars, gradually rose in next year by 8.5% and earning above 60 billion. A declined seen in gems export by 5.18%.
Textile industry exports were 25 billion dollar and very next year earning boosted by 15.24% and produced 32 billion. Futhermore, agricultural products earning remained stable both the year.
