Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to address the task by mentioning petroleum, engineered goods, textiles, and gems and jewellery from the provided charts and tables. However, there are significant misunderstandings and inaccuracies in reporting the data. For instance, the student confuses exports and imports by using the term 'impoeted' multiple times, and the overview incorrectly claims that the highest value exchange was in textile, whereas petroleum clearly held the highest values. While some main features are touched upon, the lack of precision and inaccurate data interpretation prevent the response from scoring higher, placing it firmly within the Band 4 descriptor range for incomplete and partially inaccurate coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The overall organisation of the essay is severely disjointed. The text lacks clear paragraphing, presented instead as a dense block of poorly connected sentences. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as 'after giving a glanve in first bar chart its its shows' and 'Moving futher towaeds the table chart , its was showed'. The logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by abrupt shifts between the bar chart and the table, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison of data across the categories. Referencing is unclear throughout, resulting in a low score for coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
Lexical control is extremely limited and heavily impacted by basic spelling errors and inappropriate word choices. The student frequently misspells common words, such as 'differnts', 'conrituted', 'depcits', 'impoeted', 'glanve', 'hihest', 'intersting', 'itemsa', 'jewellary', 'expoeted', 'falls', 'belowss', 'futher', 'towaeds', and 'othere'. Furthermore, fundamental economic terms are misused, such as writing 'impoeted' instead of 'exported' and 'profits' instead of 'value' or 'revenue'. The vocabulary range is basic and repetitive, restricting the score to Band 4.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the text, featuring a high frequency of basic errors that frequently impede communication. Simple sentence structures often contain severe errors in agreement and tense, such as 'The bar chart illustrate', 'the hihest products impoeted ... was petroleum that was 60 billons', and 'its was showed the opposite percentage'. Attempts at complex structures invariably fail, resulting in run-on sentences and fragmented clauses devoid of correct punctuation. Punctuation is haphazard, with random spacing before commas and periods. These persistent errors across most sentences place the grammar score at Band 4.
