Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarise the provided visual data by highlighting several key categories such as petroleum, engineering goods, and agricultural products. However, the interpretation of the data contains significant inaccuracies and confusion between the absolute export values in 2015 and the percentage changes provided in the table. For instance, the student states that the profit of petroleum and engineering goods increased up to 65 billion dollars in 2016, which misinterprets or mixes up the figures. Furthermore, the overview statement is overly vague ('percentages of each product is gradually high at the end of year'). While some main features are selected, the overall task response suffers from a lack of clarity and precision in reporting the data, aligning with a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into three paragraphs, including an introductory paragraph, a body paragraph, and a concluding body paragraph, showing an attempt at logical paragraphing. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow due to abrupt transitions and unclear referencing. Devices such as 'While', 'Meanwhile', and 'In stark contrast' are used, but their mechanical application does not always establish a clear logical link between sentences. For instance, 'While, in agricultural products the earnings through exports is plateaued at that given time' hangs awkwardly without full development. Cohesion is therefore sometimes faulty and mechanical, supporting a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'illustartion', 'crsytal', and 'enginering'. The student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary like 'exporters', 'categories', 'exports', and 'plateaued', but the range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. Additionally, awkward phrasing such as 'earning of petroleum through exporting' and 'profit upto' reduces precision. Due to the restricted lexical range and frequent spelling or word-choice inaccuracies that cause some difficulty for the reader, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('percentages of each product is', 'earnings through exports is plateaued'), incorrect prepositions ('in 2015 till 2016', 'from year starting'), and awkward clause structures ('which is quite high from 2015'). Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, and punctuation errors are noticeable. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance firmly at a Band 5.0.
