The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The provided bar chart illustrates export earnings of various products while the table compares the earning from 2015 to 2016.
Overall, the petroleum products and the engineered goods were the most earned products in terms of monetary value. By contrast, the agricultural products and the tilies were the lowest earned revenue in compared to others.
Counting the total amount of revenue, petroleum products took the leading values, closely followed by the engineered goods with approximately 60 billion dollars. In addition, gems and jewellery category was placed in the middle with roughly 40 billion dollars revenue. Finally, agricultural products and textiles were placed at the last with 30 billion dollars revenue.
The provided table shows a different story. The textile industry was observed 15.24% increase in values, followed by the engineered goods with only 8.5% increase. In addition, petroleum products and the agricultural goods showed moderate increase of 3% and 0.81% respectively. Gems and jewellery performed the worst among all other category with a decrease of 5.8% in percentage value.
