The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The graphical representations demonstrates the information related to the value of one nation exports in several categories from 2015 to 2016. The table depicts the variations in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Overall, earnings from petroleum products and engineered goods was highest during interval of two years. Moreover, rather than gems and jewellery prices of every product increased in 2016.
In 2015, profit from petroleum was 60 billion and it recorded a rise of nearly 3 billion in 2016. Moreover, engineered goods had a positive uptrend, 55 billion in 2015 and 62 in 2016. The trend of gems and jewellery recorded a dip of 3 billlion. However, it was 42 billion in 2015 and value of agricultural products levelled off. The earnings from textiles was approximately 15 billion and it rose in 2016 by 8 billion.
Prices of the textile had a sharp climb in the prices by 15.24% till 2016 and value of engineered goods rose nearly 8.5%. Moreover, prices of petroleum products increased 3% in 2015 and only 0.81% regarding agricultural products. Only gems and jellewery prices fell by 5.81%.
