The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chart and tabular chart compares the data and the value of a country's exports in different categories during the years 2015 and 2016.
Overall, the bar graph illustrates the export earnings of a products category, while the tabular chart depicts the percentage change in each product category of exports from 2015 to 2016.
The was a significant difference in all the products catergories, whereas petroleum ranges higher in all the categories as compared it was 60% in 2015 and slightly increased it to 63% in 2016. The second next most export earnings is engineered goods as it has increased by 8.5% from last year.
Agricultural products and Textiles has a fluctuating trend, where former remain stable and rise upto a very slight percentage 0.81% and latter has an upward trend it rose highly upto 15.24%. Moreover, the only product has declined in all categories is gems and jewellery which has a slightly decrease by 45% to 40% in the year 2016.
