Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student covers all parts of the task well, providing an overview and detailing the data for each export category from the bar chart and table. Main features and key comparisons are successfully highlighted, such as noting petroleum products accounted for the highest value and engineered goods showed significant growth. However, there are some minor data inaccuracies when reading the figures, such as stating petroleum products were around 60 billion in 2015 when the chart shows 61, and the response cuts off abruptly at the end before finishing the final sentence about textiles. Despite this minor truncation, the core information and trends are appropriately reported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response is generally coherent and presents a clear overall arrangement with an introductory paragraph, an overview, and body paragraphs detailing the categories. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction/overview from the body details. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader, such as 'Overall', 'Looking at the details', and 'Conversly', though some transitional links are slightly mechanical or inaccurate ('Followed by this comes engineered goods'). Referencing is mostly clear, but the logical progression is slightly disrupted by the abrupt ending of the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully incorporating terms related to data reporting such as 'accounted for', 'highest value', 'upward trend', and 'decline'. There are a few spelling and typographical errors throughout the text, including 'jeweellery', 'agricultutal', 'categories' used where category is needed ('each categories'), 'arbiet' (albeit), and 'Conversly' (Conversely). While these lexical errors are noticeable, they do not impede overall communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure with clauses like 'where gems and jewellery showed a decline...'. However, there are several grammatical and mechanical errors, such as article omissions ('accounted for highest value', 'showed most increase'), incorrect preposition usage ('value change during the both years'), and a fragmented sentence structure at the end of the text where the final sentence remains incomplete. These errors occasionally disrupt the flow, but meaning remains largely clear.
