IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
the bar chart illustrates the amount of money spent on diffrent export categories that are petroleum products,engineered goods,gems and jewellery,agricultural products and textiles in 2015 and 2016 in one country.the units measured in billion dollars while the table shows proportions about the prices change on the previous exports on the same years .
overall from the table the value of all the products exported increases in contrast to gems and jewellery
it is noticeable that 2016 was higher on pay compared to 2015 on all the products not including gems and jewellery.
looking first at the expendeture of the country on engineered goods and textiles there was a significant upward trend from 2015 to 2016 (from 50's to 60's billions , from 20's to 30's billions respectivly) with the highest rose of prices as well with a percentage of 15.24% and 8.5% , compared to petroleum and agricultural products we see a slight increase in both the change of value and export charge in 2016.
regarding the money spent on gems and jewellery its the only decreased data from 2015 to 2016 from around 44 billions to around 41 billions and being the only product having a downfall in its value by 5.18%
