IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The bar graph illustrates the comparison of earnings by exports. It describes exports of five diffrent categories in billions in the years 2015 and 2016. Also, there is a table provinding exact differs in percentage while comparing 2015 and 2016.
Overall, graph explains the country was doing highest amount of export in Petroleum products in both years. In contrast, textiles category was the least exported again in both years. Additionally, the greatest hike in values was discovered by Textiles and the lowest was done by Agriculture products in comparison.
In 2015, the country exported Petroleum products of almost 60 billions, Engineered goods of just above 55 billions, Gems and jewellery of just under 45 billions, Agricultural products around 30 billions and Textiles approximately 25 billions.
In 2016, the export of Petroleum products got increased by 3%, which was almost same in 2015 of around 60 billions. Moving to Engineered goods, it jumped over 60 billions by 8.5% as compared to 2015, then Gems and jewellery slipped by 5.18% that of in 2015 reaches to almost 40 billions, but Agriculture products almost remained unchanged at just around 30 billions as before. Whereas, Textiles has got tremendous increase in export by 15.24% and crossed 30 billions.
