IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The bar chart and tabular data depicts information related to money earned via export and percentage fluctuation in year 2015 and 2016, respectively. Where the scale is given in billion dollars.
Overall, petroleum contributes the most while textile business earns the least from export. On the other hand, there has been significant raise occured in a textile product where, only gems and jewllery has falling statistics in in year 2015 and 2016.
Category of petroleum earns the most amoung other businesses which is 61 billion dillars in 2015 and 63 billion dollars in 2016. Similarly, engineered goods earned around 57 billion dollar in year 2015 and grossed by 5 billion dollar next year. However earning from agriculture secotr remained same in both year which is 31 billion dollar. Whereas, gems and jewllery business's earnings droped by 2 billion dollar which was 41 billion dollar in 2016 while textile sales had tremendous raise around 5 billion dollar in 2016.
Only gems and jewllery section has faced drop in sales by 5.18% where textile scored highest sales in year 2016. In addition, petroleum, engineered goods and agricultural has done slight more sales which is 3%, 8.5% and 0.81% respectively.
