The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar graph illustrates the value of export across five categories in one country from 2015 to 2016.
Overall, it is immediatey apparent that the petroleum products accounted for the highest share of export earnings in both years. Whereas, the export earning from textiles was the lowest share of the total.
In 2015, the petroleum products accounted for the largest segment, at around 61 billions. This was followed by engineered goods, which represented approximately 56 billions export earnings. germs and jewellary stood at 43 bilion of the total earnings. Agricutural products and texties made up around 32 billion and 26 billions export earnings.
By 2016, the figure for petroleum products increased marginally to 62 bilions of export earnings. The engineered goods rose by around 5 percentage point to 61 billions. In contrast, gems and jewelery decreased slightly from 43 billion to 41 billions of exports earnigs. The rate of agricultural products rose modestly to 33 billions. Ultimately, Textiles exports earnings soar significantly to 32 billions.
