Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features from both the bar graph and the table, selecting relevant data such as the top export earners and the percentage changes. However, some parts are developed more fully than others, and there are occasional misunderstandings or inaccurate readings of the visual data, such as misinterpreting the units as percentages (e.g., writing '60% and less tha 60%' instead of billions of dollars). Furthermore, some details lack precision and clarity, which prevents the response from achieving a higher band. To reach the next level, you should ensure data is interpreted accurately according to the chart's actual units and provide a more fully developed comparison across all categories.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, an overview paragraph, and separate body paragraphs addressing the graph and table respectively. Logical sequencing is present, and basic paragraphing is used. However, cohesion at times feels mechanical or slightly faulty, with referencing that is not always entirely clear, such as abrupt transitions like 'To commence with bar graph' and awkward phrasing connecting the sentences. To bridge the gap to the next band, you need to use cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure that transitions between ideas and paragraphs flow smoothly without feeling formulaic or disjointed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

An adequate range of vocabulary is used for the task, with attempts to incorporate less common terms like 'significantly increased', 'considerably rose', and 'declined'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors (such as 'Petrolum', 'agricultral', 'petroulum', 'Agricultral') and some awkward word choices that do not impede communication but reveal limitations in lexical precision and control. To move higher, you should expand your control of less common vocabulary and pay closer attention to spelling and accurate word forms, ensuring terms like 'petroleum' and 'agricultural' are spelled correctly throughout.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structure. There are, nevertheless, several errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles, prepositions, and awkward clause structures, such as 'earning were 60% and less tha 60% respectively' and 'in couple of year'. While these errors rarely impede overall communication, they do persist and prevent the grammar from being fully controlled. To achieve a higher band, you should aim for greater accuracy in complex grammatical structures, subject-verb agreement, and preposition usage while reducing the frequency of basic mechanical errors.
