Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting on both the chart and the table, covering the main features and making relevant comparisons. The overview accurately highlights the dominant categories, the lowest value, and the general trends. However, some ideas and figures are under-developed or contain minor inaccuracies compared to the raw data; for instance, agricultural products and textile exports contain some data misreadings and formatting oddities like '25% billion'. The response successfully meets the requirements for a solid performance at this level, demonstrating a clear awareness of the prompt's visual data, but misses the fully extended and accurate reporting required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear division into an introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. Information flows logically from overall trends to specific category data. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, and paragraphing could be structured more cleanly, as the second body paragraph is quite short. Referencing and cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'Finally' are used, but occasional awkward spacing and punctuation around conjunctions affect the smoothness of the progression, placing the text firmly within this band.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items related to data reporting such as 'experienced the largest increase' and 'export values'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('yeras', 'goodshad', 'jwellery', 'ategory', 'unchanges', 'rised') and some awkward word choices or collocations ('dollers', '25% billion'). These lexical slips and inaccuracies do not severely impede communication, but they restrict the score, showing the characteristics of a response trying to use varied vocabulary with inconsistent accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at comparative structures and relative clauses. There are some grammatical errors and punctuation issues—such as missing spaces after commas, incorrect capitalization after punctuation, and minor preposition or verb tense slips ('textile exports rised high'). Nevertheless, these errors are relatively infrequent and rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the intended data points easily. The control of grammar aligns with a mix of error-free simple sentences and occasional errors in more complex structures.
