Student answer (Band 6.5)
The bar chart illustrates the value of one nation's export in the different product category between 2015 and 2016, whereas table represents change in values of every category of export in 2016 in contrast to 2015.
Overall, it is clear that value of export is showing upward trend majority of categories. Similarly, percantage value of products has risen except in gems and jewellery.
In graph, Petroleum products are highest exported itemsat just over 60 billion USD in 2015, and maintained its position with rising to aroun 65 billion USD in 2016. The enginnered goods and textiles shown similar growth as they recorded just over 55 and 25 billion USD in 2015 with reaching just over 60 billion USD and 30 billion USD respectively in 2016. Agriculture slightly rose just over 30 billion USD in 2016. In contrast, gems and jewellery is the only category showing decline falling slight in 2016 with just over 40 billion USD.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
You cover both the chart and the table, and your overview identifies the broad pattern: most export values rose, while gems and jewellery declined. You also select useful comparisons, including textiles’ strongest percentage growth and petroleum’s position as the leading export. Most reported figures are close to the visual data. However, petroleum is described as reaching “around 65” billion dollars, whereas the chart shows about 63, and the engineered-goods increase is not quite as large as your wording may suggest. The agricultural figure is also reported without a clear 2015-to-2016 comparison. To strengthen an already clear account, make the overview more precise and ensure each category’s change is explicitly tied to its values.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear four-part structure: introduction, overview, chart details and table details. This gives the reader a logical route through the information, and transitions such as “Overall,” “In contrast” and “whereas” help signal comparisons. The final paragraph also groups the percentage changes effectively. Some links and references are less smooth, however: “Similarly” does not clearly connect the two overview claims, and “Agriculture slightly rose” appears without a precise comparison to its earlier value. The chart paragraph moves through several categories in one long sequence, which makes the comparisons feel compressed. Use clearer grouping—for example, the highest-value categories first, then the lower-value ones—and make each transition show the relationship between the figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “export,” “category,” “growth,” “decline” and “percentage,” and phrases such as “most dramatic rise” help convey the main comparisons. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice problems limit precision: “percantage,” “enginnered,” “aroun” and “prevous” are misspelled, while “export is showing upward trend” and “spike” are not natural choices for this formal report. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “highest exported items” and “falling slight.” Aim for accurate collocations and consistent formal wording, such as “export earnings increased” and “the value fell slightly.” Proofreading spelling would make your otherwise understandable comparisons more polished.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of sentence forms, including a contrast clause with “whereas” and a relative clause in “the only category showing decline.” Nevertheless, errors occur across many sentences and sometimes make relationships less clear. Examples include missing articles in “whereas table represents” and “with rising,” subject–verb agreement in “Textiles has” and “Agriculture have,” and awkward or incomplete constructions such as “with reaching just over 60.” The overview also needs an article and a clearer verb pattern: “the value of exports showed an upward trend.” Work on articles, agreement, and complete verb structures, then check that each sentence has a clear subject and a correctly formed main verb. These corrections will help your complex comparisons read more reliably.
