Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main leaders and the largest percentage rise, and your overview correctly notes that petroleum products earned the most while textiles showed the strongest growth. However, the overview is partly inaccurate: textiles were not the lowest-earning category in both years, since agricultural products were higher but textiles were indeed lowest; more importantly, gems and jewellery fell from about $43 billion to $41 billion, a key trend omitted from the report. The claim that agricultural products were “same” also overlooks their small increase, and the figures for textiles’ earnings are not reported. The response is 127 words, below the 150-word minimum; 29 words copied from the prompt were excluded. Develop the comparisons and report the main figures more fully to address the task more completely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two detail paragraphs. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “Overall” and “Moreover” signal transitions. However, progression is limited because the details are not grouped or compared consistently: the third paragraph lists some categories, while the final paragraph repeats the point about textiles’ largest change. Several links are awkward or unclear, including “followed by engineered goods” and “the least changes had recoreded in agricultural products.” Use a clearer plan—for example, compare the two highest-earning categories, then the remaining categories, and connect each percentage change to its earnings trend. Avoid repeating the same overview point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage change,” “highest earnings,” and “recorded,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Vast changes” is not a natural way to describe percentage increases; “largest rise” or “greatest percentage increase” would be clearer. “Least changes” should be “smallest change,” while “earning” is repeatedly used where “earnings” or “export value” is needed. There are also spelling errors such as “recoreded,” “showes,” and “bt,” which reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of terms for increases, decreases, and stable values, and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, grammatical errors occur frequently, consistent with this level. The opening has subject–verb disagreement and a missing article: “The bar chart illustrate” should be “The bar chart illustrates,” and “while table shows” needs “the table.” In “Agricultural products are same,” the article and tense are incorrect; use “Agricultural products were almost unchanged.” The phrase “textiles are the least earnings” also has faulty sentence structure. Past-tense reporting is inconsistent, and some sentences join ideas without a clear grammatical relationship. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plural forms, and consistent past-tense descriptions, while keeping sentence structures manageable.
