Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main high and low categories and report several relevant changes, including petroleum’s rise to about $63 billion and textiles’ strong growth. You also note that gems and jewellery declined, which is important because it is the only category to fall. However, some comparisons are incomplete or inaccurate: engineered goods reached about $62 billion in 2016, not “about $61 billion,” and agricultural exports rose slightly to around $31.5 billion rather than showing no significant change. The overview focuses on petroleum as the “backbone” of the economy, an unsupported interpretation, instead of summarising the overall pattern: most categories increased, while gems and jewellery fell. A clearer overview and more precise reporting would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph comparing categories, and a concluding statement. The comparisons are generally grouped together, and linking expressions such as “although,” “whilst,” and “overall” help signal relationships. However, the main comparison paragraph contains many categories and figures in one long sequence, so the progression is sometimes difficult to follow. Some links are also awkward or unclear, particularly “Simillary if we compare” and “Whilst looking at the jewellery and gems.” The final sentence repeats the focus on petroleum rather than drawing together the overall trends. Organise the body into clearer comparisons—for example, rising categories and the declining category—and use more precise referencing to improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “monetary value,” “reduction,” “hike,” and “percentage,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing chart data. “Export executed” and “collecting the amount” do not express export earnings naturally, while “profit making product” introduces a meaning not shown by the chart. There are also spelling errors such as “esential,” “Simillary,” and “engineerd,” alongside imprecise phrases such as “the margin for petroleum.” These issues make the language less precise, even though the main message remains understandable. Prefer standard reporting terms such as “export earnings,” “rose to,” and “recorded the largest increase,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using structures such as “although the margin of engineered goods was comparatively less in 2015” and “where there is reduction.” This shows some range, and most of the intended comparisons can be understood. However, some sentences are overloaded, and grammatical control is uneven. For example, “Overall we can that” is missing a verb, while “the highest monetary value is gained” uses an awkward tense and passive construction for past data. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “there is reduction” and the run-together opening after “development.” Use past-tense reporting consistently, check articles and verb forms, and divide long comparisons into shorter sentences to improve accuracy and clarity.
