Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The response selects the main trends and supports them with relevant figures: petroleum products remain the largest export, textiles show the strongest growth, and gems and jewellery decline. The comparisons between 2015 and 2016 are generally accurate, including the approximate values and all percentage changes. The overview is clear, although it contains a contradiction: it says textiles “contributed least,” which is true for 2015 but not 2016, when textiles and agricultural products are approximately level. The claim that “all products sales” rose also conflicts with the decline in gems and jewellery. Clarifying that four categories increased while one fell, and specifying that textiles were lowest in 2015, would make the summary more precise and consistently developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph comparing export values, and a final paragraph reporting percentage changes. This organisation makes the information easy to follow, and phrases such as “In 2015” and “In terms of sales” help signal shifts in focus. However, the overview’s two statements about increases are inconsistent, briefly disrupting the logical flow. Some linking and reference choices are also less natural, such as “At the last” and “that figure,” whose referent could be made more explicit. Use concise transitions and ensure each paragraph’s claims align; this would make the cohesion more flexible and polished.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “generated,” “accounted for,” “decline,” “contributed,” and “percentage change.” These choices allow the writer to describe values and trends, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some collocations and word forms are inaccurate or awkward, such as “amount of exports,” “foreign revenue,” “highest boost,” and “the percent change increase.” There are also spelling errors, including “pertoleum,” “experiencec,” and “texiles.” These do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and control. Prefer standard chart language such as “export earnings,” “recorded the largest increase,” and “the percentage change,” and proofread category names carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which rose to about 62 billion” and comparisons across years. Most sentences communicate the intended figures clearly. Some grammatical errors remain, however: the introduction needs an article in “while the table shows”; “all products sales experiencec a rise” has an incorrect verb form and agreement; and “that figure significantly increase” uses the wrong tense. There are also issues with articles and number forms in phrases such as “at the second place” and “30 to 32 billions.” Review past-tense consistency when describing completed years, subject–verb agreement, and singular/plural forms to improve accuracy.
