Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar graph here shows the export of one country in each category in the year 2015 and 2016. Further the table below shows the percentage chnage in value for each category.
In the chart two axis are there. The vertical one shows the value of export in billlions dollar and the horizontal line have the name of products. The dark colour shows the export value of 2015 and the light one for 2016. The bar graph displays clearly that there is an increase in the value of each product's export in 2016 compared to 2015. First, the export of petroleum products are increased by 3 percent compared to the year 2015. Second, there is an increase in the export of engineered goods by the value of 8.5 percent which is good to considered. Third, the gems and jewellery have also seen an increase in sell compared to 2015 by 5.18 percent. Second last, agricultural products have also been exported more in 2016 however the percentage value is not as much as compared to other products, that is 0.81 percent. Last, the textile category which has the highest boom of export by value of 15.24 percent, which is also the highest among all category.
Overall to conclude that there is a positive result of export while comparing the year of 2015 with 2016. And textile tops the list.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response identifies the chart and table and attempts to summarise changes, but it misreports a central feature: gems and jewellery fell from about $43 billion to $41 billion, whereas you say this category increased by 5.18%. That percentage is a decrease, not a rise. The overview that exports increased in every category is therefore inaccurate. You correctly identify textiles as having the largest percentage increase and agricultural products as having the smallest, and several reported percentages match the table. However, the response gives little account of the actual export values or the relative rankings, and the overview is not grounded in the full data. Focus on the main trends and check that each comparison agrees with both chart and table.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a description of the visual, a sequence of category comparisons, and a concluding overview. This makes the general direction easy to follow. The ordering phrases “First,” “Second,” and “Last” help signal progression, although the repeated list-like pattern feels mechanical, and “Second last” is followed by “Last” without a clear grouping. The conclusion repeats the claim that exports rose overall rather than resolving the earlier comparison. Improve cohesion by grouping the categories that rose with those that fell, and use clearer links to show contrasts. A concise overview before the details would also make the progression more purposeful.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “percentage,” “export value,” and “category,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and some choices are inaccurate or informal for a data summary. “Highest boom of export” is not a natural collocation, while “increase in sell” does not express export value precisely. “Good to considered” is also unclear, and repeated use of “increase” makes the description less varied. There are spelling errors, including “chnage” and “billlions,” which reduce accuracy. Choose precise terms such as “rose,” “declined,” “export earnings,” and “percentage change,” and use them consistently to describe the figures.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentences, including “Overall to conclude that there is a positive result of export while comparing the year of 2015 with 2016,” but sentence structures are often incomplete or awkward. For example, “Overall to conclude that…” lacks a clear main clause, and “the export of petroleum products are increased” has an incorrect verb construction and agreement. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence formation in “In the chart two axis are there” and “the horizontal line have the name of products.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Practise forming complete subject–verb sentences and use straightforward past-tense comparisons, such as “Petroleum exports rose from… to…”.
