Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response identifies the topic and names all five export categories, and it correctly reports the increases for petroleum products and engineered goods. However, it gives only a very limited account of the chart: it omits the decline in gems and jewellery, the small rise in agricultural products, and the particularly strong growth in textiles. The claim that “most of goods are increasing highly” is not supported by the figures, since some changes were slight and one category fell. The final prediction about profitable exporting from 2016 to 2026 is not shown in the visual and is irrelevant. The response also falls 12 words short of the 150-word minimum. A clear overview and accurate comparisons of the main trends are needed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is some basic organisation: the opening introduces the chart, followed by a paragraph naming categories and reporting a couple of changes. This gives the reader a rough sense of the subject. However, progression is weak because the response does not systematically compare the categories or separate an overview from supporting details. The final sentences shift abruptly from chart reporting to claims about people earning profits and future exports, which disrupts the focus. Linking is also limited, with repeated use of “There are” and “after the year 2015” rather than clear connections between trends. Grouping the largest values, smaller changes, and the one decline into a logical sequence would make the information easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage,” “increased,” and the names of the product categories, so the basic subject is recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise: “different” appears several times, and phrases such as “how much goods are exporte earning” and “doing exporete business” do not express the chart information clearly. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “daigram,” “deffrent,” “eraning,” and “couintries,” which reduce clarity. Use accurate terms for values and trends, such as “export earnings,” “rose slightly,” and “recorded the largest increase,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can understand some basic points, such as “Engineered goods are increased by 8.5%.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or awkward, as in “There are deffrent types of goods are compared,” where the clause construction is faulty. There are recurring problems with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries; for example, “the most of people are doing” and “Most of goods are increasing” are not well-formed. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly around “2015.Most.” Build shorter, complete sentences first, then practise combining them with accurate clauses and consistent past-tense reporting.
