Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover all five export categories and report the broad direction of change for each, including the fall in gems and jewellery and increases elsewhere. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: textiles was not the lowest percentage, but had the largest percentage increase, while agricultural products had the smallest. The claim that petroleum had the highest “ratio” is also imprecise; it had the highest export value. Several figures are higher than the chart indicates—for example, petroleum is about $61 billion in 2015 and $63 billion in 2016, not $62 billion and $64 billion. The response therefore gives relevant information, but the main features and comparisons are not consistently selected or accurately summarised.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs grouping the categories. This helps the reader follow the general sequence, and words such as “Similarly” and “Additionally” signal connections. However, the overview does not clearly establish the main comparisons, and the body paragraphs mostly list categories rather than developing a clear pattern of comparison. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive, such as “After this” and “At the last,” and references like “its” in “its little rises” are not always clear. Use a concise overview followed by logically grouped comparisons, and choose linking expressions that accurately show contrast or similarity.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “export,” “categories,” “decline,” and “earnings,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “highest ratio” does not describe the highest export value, and “petroleum export to … money” is not a natural way to report a figure. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “bar chat,” “campare,” “categeries,” and “Overveiw.” Aim to use precise chart language consistently, such as “stood at,” “rose to,” and “fell to,” and check spelling before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to report changes across two years and use some connected sentences, but the grammatical range is limited and errors occur frequently. Verb forms and sentence construction are often faulty: “petroleum export to $62 billion money and its little inrease” lacks a clear, correctly formed clause, while “gems and jewellery get earnings was” combines incompatible verb forms. Articles, plurals, and prepositions also need attention, as in “one country export” and “$64 billions.” These errors sometimes make it hard to identify the relationship between a category, its value, and the year. Practise building accurate comparison patterns, for example, “Petroleum exports stood at about $61 billion in 2015 and rose to $63 billion in 2016.”
